Trees of this variety are characterized by high vigor and an upright canopy shape of medium density. The fruits are medium-sized, elliptical in shape with a rounded apex, and have a large number of prominent lenticels. As they ripen, the fruit color changes to dark black or purple.
The variety is exclusively for oil production and is valued for its stable yield as well as a good pulp-to-pit ratio. Harvesting is usually carried out from mid-October to November, starting from the fruit color change phase.
The variety is well adapted to the climatic conditions of Sicily and is characterized as sufficiently hardy. For optimal cultivation, planting on slopes is recommended, which allows avoiding water stagnation in the soil.
