The tree is characterized by high vigor, a spreading crown shape, and dense foliage. The leaves have an elliptical-lanceolate shape and a dark green upper side. The inflorescences are long, with a dense structure and a large number of flowers.
The fruits have an ellipsoidal, slightly asymmetrical shape with a pointed apex and a truncated base. When fully ripe, they turn black-violet. The variety is self-sterile and requires cross-pollination with varieties such as Coratina, Ogliarola barese, or Mele.
The flowering period is characterized as early-to-medium, and fruit coloration occurs in the medium term. The oil is characterized by a medium fruity aroma with notes of grass and olive leaf, a high content of oleic acid and phenols. Larger fruits are suitable for pickling in the green state.
