Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is a local Apulian genetic resource of folk selection. It is used both for oil production and as table olives. It possesses a unique genetic profile and often features in scientific research.

The fruits are distinguished by a high oil content calculated on dry and wet weight, as well as a high level of polyphenols, exceeding the indicators of some other varieties. The variety is being studied in the context of resistance to the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa, which causes olive quick decline syndrome.
