The Olieddu Terzu variety, also known by the names Terza, Terza Piccola, Olia de Riola or Olivo Terzo Grande, is a local variant of the Semidana variety, traditional to Sardinia. The tree has medium vigor with an open crown of medium density.
The fruit ripens between November and December. The variety comes into bearing early and is characterized by high productivity without pronounced biennial bearing. The plant is little susceptible to major diseases and possesses high resistance to the olive moth.
Its primary use is for the production of olive oil. The fruits are of medium size, although some forms, such as Terza Piccola, may differ in having a smaller fruit mass. The oil of this variety is valued for its high taste qualities.
