Variety description

10 August 2026

The Pizzulella variety, also known as Pizzutedda, is an endemic heirloom variety widespread within the territory of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park. It has evolved under local conditions over a long period and is classified as autochthonous.

Scientific research conducted using metabolomic analysis confirms a high concentration of biologically active substances in the fruits and oils of this variety. Agronomic characteristics of the plant, such as height, ripening time, and disease resistance, are not described in current publications.
