The Posolella variety is an ancient local variety (landrace) traditionally grown in the Italian region of Abruzzo. The variety has limited distribution and is often cultivated together with other local varieties, such as Carpinetana.
In biological studies, the variety shows average values for fruit weight and development. Observations note the plants' resistance to olive knot caused by Pseudomonas savastanoi. The variety is intended exclusively for oil production.
