Trees of this variety are characterized as very tall, reaching 12–14 meters, and sometimes up to 20–25 meters. The trunk often has a twisted shape, and the leaves are distinguished by their large size and dark green color on the upper side.
The fruits mature in medium-late periods. The oil obtained from them possesses a fruity aroma, slight bitterness, and peppery notes, often characterized by a high phenol content. The variety is considered sensitive to a number of diseases and pests, such as the olive fruit fly.
