The tree has high vitality and growth vigor. The variety is intended for oil production and is often used in blends with other Tuscan varieties, such as Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Pendolino. The plant tolerates vigorous pruning well and can act as a pollinator.
The variety demonstrates good resistance to low temperatures and bacterial infection (olive knot). Moderate susceptibility to Cycloconium and high resistance to the olive fruit fly are noted. The origin of the variety is linked to the traditional area around the municipality of Cerreto Guidi, province of Florence.
