Variety description

10 August 2026

The Russulella variety, also known as Rossolella di Venosa, is a local genetic resource of the Basilicata region. It is not a product of modern breeding and is maintained as part of the traditional local gene pool.

The plant is used primarily for olive oil production. Morphologically, the variety differs from other local varieties such as Cannellina, Provenzale, Lardaia, and Palmarola. Detailed data on agrotechnical characteristics, plant height, and disease resistance are absent from publications.
