The variety is a product of the breeding of Pándy meggy × Császármeggy and belongs to the pipacsmeggy regional group. The fruits have red skin and translucent light-colored flesh. The taste is characterized as refreshing, with spicy notes and a slight bitterness.
The sour cherry ripens in mid-June and is a self-fertile crop. In studies on organic horticulture, the variety showed a low degree of susceptibility to Monilinia. Due to the absence of coloring pigment in the juice, the fruits are used for preparing cocktails, pies, and cakes.
