The Königin Hortensia variety is a hybrid of sour cherry and sweet cherry. The fruits are characterized by a large size, a refreshing sweet and sour taste, and a high sugar content, however, they do not tolerate transportation well.
The tree is self-incompatible; for fruiting, it requires the planting of pollinator varieties, in particular the Griot Ostheimsky variety. The variety shows high requirements for soils, needing good moisture and rich soil, and possesses insufficient winter hardiness for severe climatic zones.
The yield of the variety is estimated as moderate or insufficient, which limits its use in industrial horticulture. Fruiting efficiency may depend on proper crown pruning and the selection of rootstock, for example, the use of Mahaleb cherry.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
