The variety belongs to a series of cherries from Dresden breeding. It is based on the use of the Hungarian variety Köröser Weichsel as a parent component to improve fruit taste qualities and increase disease resistance.
The plant possesses partial self-fertility. The variety was developed within the framework of a breeding program aimed at obtaining high-yielding cherries with good resistance to diseases, including Monilinia laxa and Blumeriella jaapii, as well as suitability for mechanical harvesting.
