The Beurré Picquery variety is a synonym for the Urbaniste variety. It was discovered as a chance seedling in the gardens of the Urbanist order in Mechelen, Belgium, at the end of the 18th century.

It belongs to autumn varieties with a fruit consumption period in October–November. The fruits are medium to large in size, have an obovate or oblong-obovate shape, thin smooth pale yellow skin, and melting buttery flesh.

The tree is characterized by moderately vigorous growth and forms a compact pyramidal crown. The variety is productive and intended for fresh consumption. Cultivation on pear rootstock is recommended.
