Variety description

The variety is intended exclusively for use as a rootstock and is not grown for berry production. It adapts well to acidic, deep, and compact soils, provided there is sufficient moisture; however, it does not tolerate lime well (tolerance up to 6%) and is prone to magnesium deficiency.

The rootstock accelerates the vegetative development of grafted varieties. The variety has moderate resistance to the root form of phylloxera and is resistant to the nematodes Meloidogyne arenaria and Meloidogyne incognita, but shows low tolerance to chlorosis on calcareous soils.

Morphologically, the variety is characterized by a semi-open young shoot tip with very weak cobwebby pubescence and young leaves with a bronze tint. Adult leaves are kidney-shaped with an open lyrate petiolar sinus, flowers are of the male type, and lignified shoots are purple or reddish-brown.
