Variety description

The variety is a hybrid of Vitis riparia (tomentosa) and Vitis rupestris (cv. Martin). The vines are characterized by medium vigor. Cuttings of the variety are characterized by good rooting ability; it possesses high compatibility with the majority of European grape varieties.

The plant is resistant to the root form of phylloxera but is susceptible to its leaf form, as well as to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and anthracnose. The variety prefers deep, fertile, moderately moist, sandy-loam, and acidic soils; it poorly tolerates excess active lime, salinity, and water stress. The formation of lateral shoots and basal sprouts is characteristic.
