The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing the varieties Joannès Seyve 11369 and Plantet (Seibel 5455). It belongs to wine grape varieties intended for wine production.

The plant requires a long growing season as it ripens quite late. The variety possesses resistance to bunch rot, yet exhibits susceptibility to a number of fungal diseases and certain viral infections. Winter hardiness of the variety is limited to frosts down to -20 °C.
