Variety description

The variety is an interspecific hybrid obtained by crossing the European variety Folle blanche and American varieties of Noah. The vines are vigorous with hermaphroditic flowers. Bunches are medium, cylindro-conical, and loose; berries are medium-sized, round, white in color, acquiring an amber hue upon ripening. The pulp is mucilaginous and possesses a characteristic labrusca aroma.

The plant has relative resistance to root phylloxera and gray mold, as well as moderate resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew, however, it is susceptible to flavescence dorée and leaf phylloxera. A mid-ripening grape variety with high yield.

A wine variety suitable for distillation due to the high acidity and low sugar level in the berries. It is the only hybrid variety permitted for use in Controlled Designation of Origin (AOC) products in the French region of Armagnac.
