Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing the Folle blanche and Noah varieties. The vines are vigorous and of mid-season maturity. Clusters are medium-sized, cylindro-conical, and loose. Berries are medium, round, white, turning amber upon ripening. The pulp is mucilaginous and possesses a characteristic labrusca aroma.

The variety is relatively resistant to the root form of phylloxera and shows moderate resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew. It is distinguished by high resistance to gray mold. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to flavescence dorée and can be damaged by the leaf form of phylloxera.

Wine materials from this variety are characterized by high acidity and low sugar content, which makes them suitable for distillation and the production of brandy. The variety is an important component for the Armagnac appellation.
