The designation Francusa 23 Cot refers to a clone of the traditional Romanian autochthonous white grape variety Frâncușă. This clone is maintained by the Cotnari S.A. winery and is used exclusively as a technical variety for the production of high-quality dry white wines.

The Frâncușă variety is late-maturing and adapted to the continental climate of the Cotnari region. Its wines possess high natural acidity, a fresh taste with aromas of green apple, pear, and almond. During production, yields are often restricted to achieve a balance of flavor characteristics.
