The variety is of Austrian origin and belongs to the technical (wine) varieties. The bunches are medium-sized, have a pyramidal shape, often with one or two wings, and vary in density from loose to medium. The berries are medium or large in size, round in shape, dark blue in color with a thick, firm skin and an intense bloom. The flesh is juicy and sweet.

The variety is of early to mid-season maturity, which allows it to ripen in regions with short summers. It is characterized as adaptive, possesses winter hardiness and a certain resistance to phylloxera. Wines from this variety are distinguished by an intense color, good acidity, soft tannins, as well as aromas of cherry, raspberry, and violet with spicy undertones.
