Malvasia Nera di Brindisi is a moderately vigorous variety with an upright vine habit. The plant's leaves are large, five-lobed, and dark green. The bunches are medium to large, semi-compact, and conical in shape. The spherical, medium-sized berries are covered with a thin skin of a dark blue hue.
The variety belongs to the medium or medium-late maturity group and is characterized by stable yields. The plant possesses resistance to low temperatures, however, it is sensitive to powdery mildew and the European grapevine moth (Lobesia botrana). It is used primarily in blends with Negroamaro or Sangiovese varieties to create wines with fruity notes.
