The variety belongs to the extensive Malvasia family and is included in official lists of varieties authorized for cultivation in Italy. Precise data on the origin and genetic cross of the variety are absent from open sources due to the heterogeneity of the Malvasia group.

Detailed morphological descriptions and information on maturity groups and disease resistance have not been published. In winemaking, the variety is used in blends, however, a specific organoleptic profile for monovarietal wine from it is not highlighted in reference works.
