Mances de Tibus belongs to pre-phylloxera grape varieties restored as part of work on the conservation of local varieties. The variety is included in international registers of grape cultivars and lists permitted for propagation in the EU.
The berries have a dark reddish-purple skin color; in winemaking, the variety is classified as black. The ripening period is characterized by a late start to the ripening stage. The use of the variety is limited to local wineries producing small batches of wine.
