The variety was discovered in 2000 in an old vineyard in the Aiguamúrcia area, Penedès region. It received its name in honor of the ruins of the Castell de Selma.
The variety is exclusively for winemaking. Wines from this grape are characterized by good acidity, volume, long aftertaste, as well as aromas with herbal and fruity notes.
