Plum productivity is a complex indicator that determines a variety's ability to produce a stable and high-quality yield, measured in kg per tree, c/ha, or kg per cubic meter of canopy.

Plum productivity is composed of precocity, regularity of fruiting, yield, and the efficiency of canopy volume utilization. For evaluating intensive orchards, the key parameter is the output per cubic meter of canopy, where a value exceeding 2.0 kg/m³ is considered an indicator of high productivity for cherry plum.

Yields of varieties vary depending on the cultivation zone and genetic characteristics. For example, under the conditions of southern Russia, productivity indicators for the Stanley, Anna Späth, and Kabardinskaya Rannyaya varieties can reach 115–170 c/ha, whereas for less productive varieties, values range from 18–50 c/ha.

Realization of the productivity potential is influenced by winter hardiness and resistance to spring frosts, as well as agronomic factors, such as moisture availability during critical fruit development phases. The choice of variety and rootstock type is made considering the need for a balance between yield and market quality of the produce.
