When evaluating potato yield, tubers with a maximum transverse diameter exceeding 40 mm are considered the marketable fraction for table varieties. The proportion of this fraction is calculated as the ratio of the mass of all saleable tubers to the total mass of the harvested crop, multiplied by one hundred percent.
High-yielding potato varieties demonstrate a marketability of over 80–90%. This indicator is critically influenced by agronomic practices, including planting depth and fertilization, as well as the phytosanitary status of the plantings: infections by diseases such as common scab or rhizoctonia significantly reduce the yield of marketable produce.
