ActiveOlea europaea L. · Olive
TODOLIVO S.L.

The variety is characterized by an upright crown shape and low growth vigor. The leaves are elliptical-lanceolate in shape and small in size. The fruits are medium-sized, oval, slightly asymmetrical, and turn purple-black when ripe.
The variety is low-yielding and late-ripening. It has a high level of ovary abortion, which leads to its frequent use as a pollinator for the Moraiolo, Leccino, Ascolana Tenera, and Arauco varieties. The oil is primarily produced in blends with other varieties, although monovarietal options also exist.
The plant possesses good winter hardiness but is sensitive to fungal diseases, particularly peacock spot. In literature, it appears under numerous synonyms, including Morchiaio, Bozzolo, Colombino, Fecciaio, Felciaio, Propolo, Morchiolo, Morcarol, Maschio, and Morchiaccio.
