The Negrita variety is a local Portuguese variety that is traditionally grown in the Trás-os-Montes region. It is an independent genetic genotype that differs significantly from other popular varieties in the region, which is confirmed by the results of molecular analysis.

The primary purpose of the variety is olive oil production, for which it demonstrates a high product yield. Agronomic characteristics, such as precise tree height, ripening periods, or disease resistance indicators, are not presented in open scientific sources.
