The variety is an early mutation of the classic Pinot Noir variety. Due to early ripening, which occurs approximately two weeks earlier than the parent variety, the harvest can be collected before the onset of unfavorable wet autumn weather.
The plant is demanding regarding growing conditions, in particular, it is prone to flower abortion. The berries are small. The variety is considered more resistant to grey mold than many other grape species.
Wine variety intended for the production of red wines with notes of red berries and dried herbs, possessing lower acidity than wines from Pinot Noir. Used both for single-varietal wines and in blends.
