The variety is a product of the natural crossing of the Heben and Monastrell varieties. The grapes are used exclusively for winemaking purposes; currently, it has a limited distribution area in the province of Oristano.
Ampelographic characteristics include a pentagonal leaf with five or more lobes and a V-shaped petiolar sinus. Young shoots have an open apex with high density of tomentum. The flower is hermaphroditic, and the berries belong to the group of black varieties.
Wines from this variety possess a specific aromatic profile, acidity levels, and pH. The variety is historically adapted to the climatic conditions of Sardinia, where it is traditionally cultivated using forms characteristic of the region.
