Under the name Greco bianco B., there may be various varieties that have no direct genetic connection. The term is historically used for local grape varieties in Southern Italy, whose status requires clarification of regional origin to identify a specific plant.
Morphological characteristics include medium vine vigor, cylindrical-conical clusters of medium density, and medium-sized round or oval berries of greenish-yellow color. The variety is characterized by a medium or medium-late ripening period and moderate susceptibility to fungal diseases.
The grape belongs to wine varieties with an average yield level. The produce is valued for high levels of sugars and acidity, which allows for the production of full-bodied white wines with mineral notes and aging potential, as well as passito-style dessert wines.
